Orthopaedics Abroad
Now having recently been forced to use a local NHS hospital I have to say that I was so surprised with the amount of duplication taking place with my having to repeat my details on 3 separate occasions and been moved 3 times into new bed sheets on different wards. I agree that you have to be careful when travelling for surgery and doing due diligence is essential, but this also is the case if you were choosing a hospital or surgeon in the UK, orthopaedicsabroad.info provide a one stop shop for anyone considering going to Thailand and they arrange all the travel and treatments including been picked up at the airport and provide an insurance policy with every booking. Now I think this is good practise and everyone considering going abroad should take out an insurance policy as standard, this then reduces the cost to the NHS for any after-care in the event of complication or removal of stitches. In many cases Orthopaedics treatments will require a 3 to 4 weeks holistic for recovery after the treatment and I can't think of many places I would rather be to help with recovery.
