Many avid golfers dream of playing and living close to a 5 star golf course, and many never get the chance. Unfortunately not all exclusive gated communities allow golfers to come and live their dream because they don’t have a top notch facility to accommodate them. Well luckily for you we’ll take a look at some of the nation’s most friendly golfing communities available, and you don’t have to even leave the house. Enjoy!
1. The Villages
Among the rare amenities of The Villages community is the opportunity to play golf FREE for the rest of your life, yes we said free. Did we mention it’s Florida golf? Ok not all golf courses in the world will be free, but the 24 executive golf courses that The Villages offers are for the lifetime of your membership free of green fees. Most of the courses available are Par 3 with the occasional Par 4 and Par 5. Golfers man also play legendary Arnold Palmer and LPGA hall of famer Nancy Lopez courses.
2. Ford’s Colony Williamsburg
Our next stop is in Virginia where this golf friendly community has been awarded so many preservation awards that we have dubbed it “The Green Golf Club”. Ford’s Colony has been awarded a Certificate of Excellence by the U.S.D.A for preserving America’s natural and cultural resources. As well as Commendation by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for preserving America’s endangered plants and species. Nice work!
3. Vista Ridge Golf Club
Well ladies we have not forgotten you either! As more and more women actively get involved in golf, the need for a more family friendly golfing atmosphere is required. Located in Erie, just 20 minutes north of Denver, Vista Ridge was named “Most Female Friendly” golf course by Colorado Avid Golfer magazine featuring year round women’s golfing clinics, a women’s only golf league and Moms play free on Mother’s Day.
4. Reynolds Plantation
This gorgeous piece of golfing real estate is located in Greensboro, Georgia. Reynolds Plantation has been dubbed by the Robb Report as the “Best of the Best Golf Community”. Also awarded to Reynolds Plantation is the honor or being a Top 100 Golf Community by Travel+Leisure Golf, this community is definitely among the rare and unique golfing communities around.
