One of the best things about Outland gold farming is that you have lots of options. There are so many different ways that you can earn gold, and many of them offer a great earn rate per hour. If you are on a mission to earn a pile of gold (say, for an epic flying mount), you probably have a long road ahead of you.
Besides just finding ways to earn gold, there’s a possibly more important thing. You have to stick with it. Whatever it is you’re doing, you have to keep at it until you’ve reached your goal. This is somewhat obvious, but people often overlook how difficult this can be. Gold farming for days and days gets tiring, and worse, monotonous.
That’s where the variety offered while farming gold in Outland comes in. When you get tired of one avenue of making money, you can just switch up to something else. There are enough different ways that you never get too worn out doing the same thing. Sick of killing one type of monsters? Switch to something else. Bored of the scenery in a particular zone? Pick a new one. Don’t want to kill stuff anymore? No problem. Grind some dailies instead, or run instances. Unlike the olden days, before TBC, there’s really no reason you can’t keep it fresh every time you grind.
TBC brought about the daily quest, which you’re probably already aware of. Daily quests are repeatable quests that pay out gold or other rewards when you complete them. You can each quest once per day, and you can complete up to 25 of them in any given day. They are each worth about 10g (or sometimes more), so that’s at least 250g per day from completing these daily quests.
Another great thing about Outland is that the level range is so much smaller than the old world. The few zones pre-TBC had to cover levels 1-60. But all the zones in TBC only cover a 10-level range. What this means to you is that almost anywhere in Outlands is well-suited for gold farming at level 70. Although not every location is equal, none of them will be terrible. Just about anywhere you decide to set up you can make decent coin questing, instancing, or grinding.
Of course, if speed is important to you, you’ll want to stick to the fastest methods out there.
