Outstanding Minuscule Barbie Doll Accessories: Formational Hints

Dollhouse Exterior Design

The outside of the dollhouse has as much do to with the appeal, if not more, than the inside design. The Paint of the dollhouse along with the look of the shingles is the first thing that you notice with your exterior. Three coats of high quality paint, recommended for dollhouses, is the minimum for dollhouse display. The shingles should be died and applied carefully using a ruler to assure that the lines are straight. In addition to the paint and shingles a couple of accessories like a barbeque or bird house will add to the attractiveness. There are even tiny additions like shutters and flower pots that you can add. Lighting is another addition that will really help the look of the outside features. Put some porch lights on, and if you have lit the inside it will make the glow through the windows appealing on the outside as well.

Accessories: The Little Touches

Little details will have a really big effect in this hobby, and there are thousands of doll house accessories that you can have. Accessories are the china in the kitchen, portraits for the walls, and the books in the bookcase. Not only will these little trinkets add a flare to your doll's house, but it will make your friend's dolls jealous. But not only will it add that creative touch, it makes it look more realistic. And don't hold back, there are so many miniatures out there that there is no reason you cannot get exactly what you want.

Accessorizing with Fabrics

Once you understand that anything and everything can change, be created, or designed in your dollhouse it opens up tons of potential. It is absolutely wonderful to be able to craft and design even the minute details of a doll's house. Fabrics and cloth is one awesome example as you can coordinate colors and have your favorites stand out. The bedroom is an excellent demonstration of detail and the breadth of items that you can create. You can coordinate the sheets, mattresses, curtains, pillows, and even a throw blanket. Next is the dinning room where you can have your own napkins, dinning room table covers, seat covers, etc. In the bathroom you have towels, floor mats, shower curtains, etc. There is just an unending amount of personal style that you can put into your dollhouse.

Choosing the Right Style Can Help Your Design

When you first started this adventure of making, building, or designing your dollhouse, did you know what style you wanted it to be? Most of us want the furniture, paint, wallpaper, etc, to match and flow together from one room to another. What you want to do is create a theme. In dollhouse furniture, kits and accessories there are three major themes that you could choose from. Victorian is the first major theme, it is recognized by the embellishments in furniture through long curved lines, elaborate fabric, and old fashioned pieces. Modern furniture is more technological, rigid, and fun - giving you options like Television sets, pool tables, and other modern pieces. Traditional furniture doesn't have a lot of pep, but the selection is great - this will fit any dollhouse and can be used at times in matching Modern or Victorian styles.
