Life is only worth living if it's exciting and you can grow as a person. To do this challenges need to be overcome. The more challenges you defeat the more confident you will be.
Without these challenges and your ability to overcome them, you can't build up your self-esteem. If you never overcome challenges the self-esteem you have starts to deteriorate.
Finding the Right Types of Challenges
First, start immediately. Sitting around doesn't do any good. This only lets the problem build and become unmanageable. The sooner you get to the other side of this problem the sooner you can forget about it and move on.
* Find a new career path. If you see no bright future in your current job, quit. Find a job that will give you the compensation and satisfaction that you deserve.
*Look at yourself in the mirror and figure out what can be improved. No matter how healthy you are you can always stand to be healthier.
* Take up a new hobby like playing a musical instrument, scuba-diving or starting your own vegetable garden.
These hobbies will bring more meaning to your life and give you more confidence has you learn to master these hobbies.
Make Goals To Achieve
Start off with one large long term goal and divide into smaller more manageable pieces. If you want to lose 20 lbs in 4 months, start with smaller goals of 5 lbs a month.
Make sure to give yourself enough time to accomplish your goals. Failing to reach them in an impossible time frame will only decrease your self-esteem not build it. However, if you are ahead of schedule tighten up the time frame and give yourself less time.
Keep Track of Your Achievements
These acknowledgements give you the boost of confidence you are going to need to finish up the long term part of the goal.
* At the end of each day, note down all you have achieved within the past 24 hours.
* Create a reading list and check all the books you've read so far.
* Place a notepad by the weighing scale to record your weight loss progress.
The small victories that you achieve on a daily basis will compound the confidence you feel in yourself. The momentum will speed up and you are likely to achieve your goals earlier than you originally set.
Get Support from Other People
It is always easier to conquer challenges if you have someone by your side who provides continuous support. It's even better if you find a friend who wants to accomplish the same goals as you because you can inspire and challenge one another as both of you work hard towards achieving these goals.
As long as you continue overcoming challenges and improving yourself, your confidence will always be high and your life will be as rewarding as it can be.
