Owning A Cessna 152

What can be more fun than owning a Cessna 152 that you can use for going to places or just touring? Owning a Cessna airplane is even cheaper than owning a used car these days, because you can find one a lot cheaper than many newer model used cars in the market. And what is even more fun is that if you want to sell this plane after some months or years of use, you can still sell it at a good price or even higher than what you paid. Yes, this is true because costs of these planes are higher than when it was first produced and sold, even when you factor in inflation.

The popularity of the Cessna 152 comes from its name and reputation. This small two-seater plane was first built in the late 70s by Cessna aircraft, an American Company and was built as a two seater high wing single engine airplane. It is powered by a 110 HP 4 cylinder Lycoming engine and has more power than the Cessna 150, its predecessor. The revised fuel and electrical systems of this plane made it more popular with aircraft training schools worldwide. This plane has a fuel capacity of 37.5 gallons of aviation fuel in both wings and can give about 5 hours of flying time. At a cruising speed of about 100 knots it can give you a range of about 500 nautical miles or roughly 900 kilometers. If you are on a low cruising speed your range will be farther than 900 kilometers.

The take off and landing weights of the Cessna 152 are 757 kilos maximum such that it can take 2 persons maximum and a little luggage included. This plane can take off or land in short and soft airstrips which makes it more popular with private owners who only have their farmlands as airfields. Its popularity with aircraft trainers schools come from its economy and fuel efficiency and also its ease in handling and maneuverability. Student pilots also find their first training flights in this plane because at lower speeds maneuverability can be easily handled. This plane can still be found in trainer schools around the world, these days.

More people have flown this plane than with any other small planes these days, and its popularity has not diminished. Experienced flyers and pilots can tell you that this plane is a safe and reliable plane to have. There is still a number of the Cessna 152 flying these days. There are even figures that show that roughly 75 percent of these planes produced after the manufacturer stopped its production, are still flying these days. Owning one is simple a good investment for an individual, and what is even more interesting is that the cost of a used Cessna 152 is less than lots of a number of used SUVs. This makes the investment even more to your advantage.
