Paramount Pictures - Shooter Iphone Game

Many Paramount Pictures films get made into games, as do a lot of intellectual properties from Hollywood. A good number of them become commercial successes and are good companions to the original franchise. A limited number become so popular that they push their genre into a greater level of excellence and occasionally become greater than the original movie. Still other games are what some in the business call shovelware: a game that is produced simply to go along with the Hollywood title, with no real purpose but to cash in and make money off of the unsuspecting customers recognizing a logo, trademark or picture, and purchasing the game.

Shooter, now available for the Apple iPod Touch and iPhone is the latest game available from Paramount Digital Entertainment, a division of Paramount Pictures and is a touch screen first person shooter title based on the 2007 movie of the same name.

The game is spread across six missions, each with five sub-missions. The missions are mainly stealth and sniper missions, with a few action sequences mixed in. There are also several puzzle missions added in to spice up the gameplay. The game has a strong learning curve, which can make playing some of the levels more of a challenge than a joy, but the game is very fun to play for the most part.

Shooter is another fine addition to the library of available games by Paramount Digital Entertainment, a division of Paramount Pictures, and at the bargain cost of $1.99 is worth a look.
