Paris, Feel The Seine...

If you are planning to visit Europe then you must stay at least a couple of days in one of its largest cities, Paris; with over 30 million foreign visitors annually it is a very popular destination. Many couples decide to take short stay in Paris as it is probably the most romantic city in the world; the desire to stay longer is strong as there is so much to see and do.

It is renowned for its wonderful Gothic inspired buildings and street markets; plus sights like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre and many other places that are havens for tourists, both home grown and international. Visitors to Paris as well as its citizens can travel around Paris easily; the underground train system or Metro can take you to anywhere within the city and is simple to use.

You can't miss the Eiffel Tower, mainly because it's over three hundred meters high; it's visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. In the evening the illumination means it can be seen for many miles; it is possible to take organized tours which tell the story of the Tower and the history of France.

The famous Paris Avenue ‘the Champs Elysees' must also receive a visit; with shops, cafes, and restaurants littered along the wide pavements, it is a ‘must see' for every visitor. When you visit this region of the city you will see it is a much more select area; most of the five star hotels are located here but more affordable hotels can be found further out.

If you are an art lover you will enjoy the Louvre, a truly amazing museum; it contains almost a third of a million exhibits and is in fact one of the biggest art museums in the world. It would be easy for anyone on a Paris short stay vacation to spend all their time here; some of the world's most important art collections including the infamous Mona Lisa are on display. Paris has always been a magnetic destination for artists; many of whom left large collections of their paintings here like Monet and Picasso.

The famous 19th century edifice built on Napoleons instructions, the Arc de Triomphe, is also in Paris; it provides visitors with a wonderful photo experience because it contains the names of every one of his generals. Many people do not know that an observatory was included in the design which affords great views of the surrounding area; including all the avenues of which it is a focal point.

This city has a huge variety of places to visit, many of these have not even mentioned here; although no trip would be complete without seeing these, they are probably best viewed as part of a guided tour, some of which are actually free. A Paris Short stay vacation should only ever be considered a sample of what the city can offer; anything else on your ‘to see' list can wait for your next trip.
