Paris; Motivate Your Soul

As the capital of France, Paris is a large city; it is also one of the best European city destinations. Paris short stays are primarily taken by couples wanting a romantic weekend; there is so much to see and do that often only the main tourist attractions can be fitted in.

This city is also equally well known for its Gothic architecture and markets; these include the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, markets and a history only matched by a few other European cities. Traveling around Paris is relatively easy for visitors as well as locals; the Metro underground train network will probably be the main method as it runs regularly and reaches every part of the city.

No visit would be complete without a trip to the top of the almost 1,000 feet tall Eiffel tower; it's visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. At night, it comes alive with lights that have to be seen to be believed; taking a tour at the same time will teach you much more about this remarkable structure.

If you plan on spending some of your traveler's checks in Paris, then a trip down the Champs Elysees is an essential part of a trip; it will present you with many famous designer shops and good restaurants. This avenue is well worth a visit to see how the wealthy live; it is also where most of the five star hotels are situated but thankfully hotels tend to be cheaper once you move away from the city center.

If you are an art lover you will enjoy the Louvre, a truly amazing museum; it holds in excess of 300,000 pieces of art, which cannot possibly be seen in a single visit. If you are in Paris on a short stay you must plan your time well; some of the world's most important art collections including the infamous Mona Lisa are on display. What makes Paris special is the number of artists that have been attracted to this great capital; painters like Monet and Picasso spent many years here and a large number of their art works can be seen in Paris today.

Of course, Napoleon commissioned the construction of the Arc de Triomphe, another Paris landmark; to honor his generals (and his troops) he had their names inscribed upon it. Although not generally well known, the Arc had an observatory installed after it was constructed to provide views of neighboring areas; it stands in the place where the city's main avenues begin including the Champs Elysees.

Obviously, these are not the only places to visit; but these should certainly not to be missed because many offer regular guided tours, some at little or no charge at all. On your short say in Paris you will only see a small sample of what is available for a visitor; anything that's missed will have to take a rain check.
