Paris; The Home Of Creativity...

Very few cities in Europe can compete with Paris as a romantic destination; sitting astride either side of the river Seine it is one of the world's most popular cities. Paris short stays of a few days, often over a long weekend are the normal way to see it; most people promise to return as so much they wanted to see will have been missed.

It is known for its wonderful buildings, style, excellent food and wine; it has much to offer visitors who adore culture, even if it is only for a long weekend. Like most European cities, Paris is easy to get around; the Metro underground train network will probably be the main method as it runs regularly and reaches every part of the city.

The Eiffel Tower at over 300 meters tall and is a magnificent steel structure; it's visible throughout most of the city but the views from the top of this huge steel structure are even more impressive. Illuminated at night it dominates the city's skyline; taking a tour at the same time will teach you much more about this remarkable structure.

The famous Paris Avenue ‘the Champs Elysees' must also receive a visit; it's where you will find all the top class hotels, shops and restaurants. This is considered a more exclusive and busy area of the city; it is also where most of the five star hotels are situated but thankfully hotels tend to be cheaper once you move away from the city center.

The city's famous museum, the Louvre is huge and worth a visit if you have the time; it holds in excess of 300,000 pieces of art, which cannot possibly be seen in a single visit. The problem is a Paris short stay will only ever provide a glimpse of what can be seen here; approximately 8 million visitors a year come to see the Venus de Milo and the Mona Lisa, both of which are on display. Over the years, Paris has been home to many of the world's famous artists; the likes of Monet, Picasso and many others lived in the city for years and some of their work can still be seen today.

Another famous Paris attraction is The Arc de Triomphe which was built within the first decade of the nineteenth century; it provides visitors with a wonderful photo experience because it contains the names of every one of his generals. The Arc is the focal point of the city and contains an observatory to view the local area; including all the avenues of which it is a focal point.

Obviously, these are not the only places to visit; there are plenty of others to keep you occupied but to make the most of your time, use one of the guided tours. Most people find their Paris short stay vacations exciting but only see a glimpse of what's on offer; those attractions that cannot be seen will still be there the next time you visit.
