Passengers On P&o’s Worldwide Cruises Support Social Causes

The first Green World Tour took place in November - guests aboard the Oriana were able to visit the SOS Children’s Village in Manila, and by visiting, raised £500 to donate to the children. Passengers and crew also made donations of toys, games and sweets. Another visit, to the Peninsular School Feeding Project in Cape Town raised £38 per visitor, and this will feed one child for a year. Wildlife enthusiasts can also make a difference, with trips to wildlife centres and charitable projects such as the Sea Turtle Conservation Centre in Laem Chabang.

The price for some trips includes a donation and for others it just covers costs, with passengers free to donate as much or as little as they choose. The tours vary in price but share a couple of vital characteristics: they are all non-profit making and they all benefit the organisations or charitable schemes visited.
