Pentax Optio P70 Digital Camera

The new Pentax Optio P70 is a 12-megapixel point-and-shoot camera that’s easy to use and takes fairly decent pictures. As well as taking pictures, the Pentax Optio P70 has a HD video capture mode.

The camera comes in three different colours; silvery aluminium, white and red. All versions of the camera look very nice and help to give the camera an edge of sophistication. The Optio P70 has a 4X optical zoom lens and has a 27.5mm wide-angle extreme that makes the camera great for shooting expansive panoramic shots. The camera also has a shake reduction mode that can be very handy to compensate for somebody who has shaky hands while taking the picture.

Like a lot of other point-and-shoot cameras, the Pentax Optio P70 has a face recognition mode which recognises faces in an image and then sets the focus and exposure automatically helping to get a better shot. In addition to the face recognition mode, the Pentax Optio P70 has a Smile Capture mode that releases the shutter only when the subject in the picture smiles. The camera will also alert you with a beep if anybody is blinking in the picture.

The camera has a 2.7 inch LCD screen on the back of the device to allow the user to view the images they have taken and then allow them to either save or delete them. There is also a green button on the back of the camera which is able to be programmed to your favourite settings. This will save you time setting them up before each photo.

As I mentioned earlier, the P70 captures high-def video which is good for capturing some great moments.
