Perfect Spring Weekend Breaks

The weather is gradually starting to turn warmer, and this is a great time to start planning a fun filled spring break with the family. Many people head straight to the south of France or other parts of Europe to soak up the sun. However, there are plenty of great places to take a spring break right on your doorstep.

The seaside town of Brighton is located on the south coast of the United Kingdom and has a lot to offer people of all ages. Taking a stroll along the old Victorian pier is a great way to soak up the atmosphere of this enchanting destination. Amusements can be found at the very end of the pier, including all the usual rides for children as well as a modestly sized roller coaster that twists and turns over the ocean.

Situated just off the coast of Kent, the Isle of Sheppey has long been a popular spring destination for people who live in London. Many people rent caravans here all year round, which allows them to take breaks whenever they want. The Isle of Sheppey boasts three sandy Blue Flag beaches to soak up the sun on, which are all lined with shops, restaurants and other amenities. Most visitors tend to base themselves in the town of Leysdown, which boasts several large amusement arcades as well as nightclubs, snack bars and local markets.

The region of England known as the Cotswolds is famous for its typically English charm. This is a great place to rent a cottage for a few days and unwind for a while. One of the most popular destinations in the Cotswolds among families is the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water. Children are sure to love the feeling of being a giant as they stroll through the exquisitely detailed model village that can be found here. Burton-on-the-Water also boasts several other family orientated attractions, including Birdland Park and the impressive Dragonfly Maze.

Situated in a large and lovely national park, the New Forest is also a great place to take a spring break. Children and adults alike are sure to be charmed by the cute New Forest ponies that roam freely through this part of Hampshire in the South East of England. The main attraction here is the natural beauty of the New Forest, and there are plenty of walking trails for visitor to forest. Camping in the New Forest is the ideal family activity when the weather allows, and there are also plenty of other types of accommodation to choose from here.
