It is essential to get a survey done before purchasing a house. A professional surveyor will be able to give you information on the house that you will not be qualified to investigate yourself. However, one should also check other items oneself. The basic thing which one should remember is that all the papers and documents of the house are registered by the local authority. The house build must be strong and resistant to environmental conditions. The sanitation and waste pipes should be checked to prevent inconveniences and unhygienic conditions.

Never buy a disputed property because sooner or later it will definitely create problems. The locality around the house should be peaceful with friendly neighbors. Emergency exit gates, fire alarms and extinguishers must be deployed to ensure security and prevent any accidents. No commercial activities should be running too near the house.
