Perhaps I've Been In A Cave, But What The Heck Is A Kindle?
Say 'Goodbye' to being sent to the excess baggage counter when you are at check-in, because the mountain of books you have packed for your vacation have sent you over the airline's weight allocation, because with this Bad-Boy you can store about a gazillion books into something that can fit down your sock. Although don't actually put it down your sock, cos that would be sad. The new Amazon Kindle (Wi-Fi) has a high-contrast electronic-ink screen that's as easy to read as real paper, even in bright sunlight. It can store up to 3,500 books, has up to one month battery life and built in Wi-Fi so you can download new books direct to your device in under 60 seconds, all for only GBP 109. Customers who choose the Kindle 3G (3G + Wi-Fi) can also download books and access the Kindle store for free over 3G--with no monthly bills or annual contracts--for only GBP 149. The Amazon.co.uk Kindle Store has the biggest selection of any ebook store in the UK with over 450,000 titles available. There's about over 90,000 books you can download, and you can to preview a book before buying free of charge. Each book will run you about $10 or less. Bargain! Over 250 top blogs raging from technology and business to sports and entertainment are also available so you're spoilt for choice. The thing I was really dubious about was the screen, iPods are difficult (IMO) to get the brightness levels just right, but the Kindle has cracked this one, so you can read in any light and don't have to worry about eye strain. A great piece of kit, highly recommended and something special. (Not the sock thing).
