Personal Injury Claims And Social Media

Social media has begun to be a very important part of the world we live in. This is why we should start being cautions when and how we use the specific websites because revealing too much information on your life can sometimes be damaging.

Posting photos daily, writing witty comments and Liking what your friends say can be fun, as long as you leave your private life aside. When decide to stay at home some day and you tell your boss that you are too sick to get out of bed, then it would be a good idea not to post a picture with you baking a cake and walking the dog downtown. Of course, you might laugh but there are lots of people out there that do this without thinking of the consequences.

So what is the connection between social media and personal injury claims, well the answer to the question should be clear by now. When you are involved in an accident, be it a car accident, a slip, a fall or a whiplash and you are claiming damages for your loses, the make sure that you don’t ruin the case with stupid details such as photos of your Facebook page.

You should under no circumstances star talking about our misfortune with your friends. Don’t; get them involved in this situation before you talk to a solicitor. This will only ruin your case and you will lose the right to obtain any compensation. Posting pictures of your in a bikini while you are supposedly stuck at home trying to recover from the accident is not going to make you win the case.

Tweeting is something that we all do these days. Nevertheless, you should avoid doing this while the solicitor is presenting your case. So any messages such as “WOW I’m hungry, cannot wait to get out of here” are not going to make you look like the suffering person you at least should be.
There are boundaries that you should not cross when you are trying to make a casa stick. So don’t try to write any nasty insults about the person that hit your car or hurt you in any way. Keep cool, calm and collected. Winning the case is you major goal therefore you should only focus on that. Also, don’t announce on your page that you will be leaving to Hawaii with the compensation money. This would not be a smart move on your part because you might just have to give all the cash back!
