Petrol Cars In India

Indian car market has traditionally been dominated by the petrol driven cars, and 70 per cent of the Indian car market is constituted of small cars. With the growing middle class and increasing purchasing power of the people, the demand for small has also been growing. Keeping the increasing demand for fuel efficient cars by this growing middle class in view, the focus of automakers has now shifted towards making more fuel efficient and economical cars across all segments.Today you have a plethora of options in the petrol cars available in the market. The small cars market for long was dominated by old war horses like Tata, Maruti and Hyundai. With the launch Chevrolet Spark, General Motors India seems to have thrown tough challenge before these established payers. Ever since its introduction, Chevrolet Spark has seen outstanding response from the market.

In the midsize segment, the market is taken over by recently launched Chevrolet Aveo and Aveo U-Va. The Aveo has power plants that deliver best-in-class fuel efficiency and employ a hydraulic engine mount for a smooth, vibration-free ride. Their performance is enhanced by GM’s Variable Geometry Induction system (VGIS) and a 32-bit Engine Management System. VGIS helps maximize power and fuel efficiency across the rpm range. The engines are complemented by a smooth-shifting standard five-speed manual transmission. The Aveo U-VA, again, has a 1.2-liter petrol engine that delivers 76 ps of peak power and healthy torque of 110 Nm. It delivers class-leading fuel efficiency with excellent drivability. This has been achieved by recalibrating the Engine Management system and gearratio combination for Indian fuel, driving habits and traffic conditions.
