Photographers: Increase Your Reputation Through Charitable Giving
1. Donate your entire session fee and a large print to the charity. While doing so will cost your business very little (your time and the price of the print), the market value of such a gift can be substantial. The large print will give you a chance to effectively display your to a number of prime potential clients. 2. Do several events a year. One of the keys to effective marketing is repetition of message. Many of the same people who are at one fund raiser will be at a different fund raiser. This gives the photographer a terrific opportunity to show several different images to the same general audience. 3. Ask for referrals and market through the friends of the purchaser of the charity session. Those who purchase items at a charitable auction realize that one of the things that allows a business to donate to charity is the increase contacts which this generally affluent group. With this in mind you will find many who are willing to help you out along the way. You can magnify this contact by asking if you can tag an image to the donors Facebook page. This allows you to ratchet up the good will among friends of affluent people with some disposable income to spend on pictures. By tagging the image to your client's account, all of the donors friends will see the image (make sure your logo is on the donated image you will post). By following the above steps, a photographer can effectively utilize charitable events and auctions to give to their communities, better his image and market effectively.
