Picking The Correct Double Bull Blinds
Chair Blinds Chair blinds work excellent whenever rifle hunting within areas that require some climbing or whenever your traveling distance is longer. A chair hunting blind doesn't offer much space for anything but yourself and you'll more than likely have to wear some type of face mask since the majority will not have front screens or fine mesh covers. A plus to chair blinds is they present you with great convenience and luxury with out weighing a lot. Small Ground Hunting Blinds These hunting blinds usually are pyramid shaped and also have an average footprint close to 60x60. Small blinds are very effective for rifle or shotgun hunting of deer and turkey but they're limited when bow or crossbow hunting because of the pyramid design. Most are offered in an array of camouflage selections so it's important to know your hunting area so you can blend right in. The average weight of these smaller blinds is usually less than 10 lbs making them great for shorter travel distances or hunters with bad backs. One of the more popular blinds in the small portable hunting blind category is the Ameristep Outhouse featuring the standard pyramid design and coming in at around 10 lbs. it is a best example a transportable ground blind. Large Hunting Blinds Larger ground blinds are great for the gamesman who doesn't have to handle their blinds over very long distances or they have use of the hunting spot by motor vehicle. These hunting blinds are larger in size and weight but will work for almost all types of rifle and bow hunting. The most widely used of these blinds feature mesh windows that you can shoot through so there's no need to unzip something when that large buck comes walking by. Average weight of these blinds is around 16 lbs. but can reach upwards of 25 lbs considering size and construction materials so be mindful when looking for cheap ground blinds. Personally, I would advise investing in a sturdy set of small blinds that are around 60x60. This gives adequate room for one person, or just enough space for two if you're instructing a friend of son on how to hunt. They also are usually fairly light, making the trip out and back less difficult - particularly when you're returning with a large catch for the day.
