Piper Archer Vs. Cessna 172

These two four-seater planes, the Piper Archer and the Cessna 172, have been designed as utility aircrafts. The Cessna 172 was first introduced in 1955 and immediately right after or more specifically five years after the Piper PA 28 Cherokee was created. This is the answer of the Piper Aircraft for the popular Cessna model during that time. Of course there are many other available competitors of the same built and size as the Piper PA 28 like the Grumman America AA 5 series and the Beechcraft Musketeer. All these are quite popular during their time but only the Piper got manufactured until 2009 and then put back into production in 2010.

This Piper Cherokee is very light and is perfect for personal use. The plane’s all metal build is a best proof that this plane shows high quality. They are able to record 32,778 and counting because they are still on active production. While the Cessna 172 has about 43,000 and has stopped its production in a much earlier time, both planes have been designed to fit with the daily use of private individuals. You can easily hold some private tour using this plane model. There are some flying schools which prefer to use this plane to help them solve the problem,

The Piper Cherokee usually comes in with a single engine unpressurized all metal plane that is piston powered. It has low mounted wings and has tricycle landing gear. There have been a lot of variations that was developed with this model by installing engines with power from 140hp to 300hp. It was known as the Cherokee family. Some has turbocharging and a fixed or retractable landing gear. The plane has a constant or fixed pitch speed propellers. And the plane can accommodate until six people if the fuselage is stretched.
The names of the Piper Cherokee models and variations includes the power of the model has like the PA 28 180 which means that it is powered by 180hp engine. The original Piper Cherokee is the Cherokee 150 which begun its production in 1962. Other variants like in the Cherokee 180 are powered by the Lycoming O 360 engine. With the company’s popularity there was almost a yearly production if the new variation of the original. Both the production and the variation for that of the Cessna 172 are not as big as what the Cherokee model is experiencing.

This plane will still continue to withstand the changes through time and will still be the choice for them to put into good use. Besides a large number of private owners some of the unit of this model is used to help people who can’t afford to keep.
