Planning Your Trip To The Yorkshire Dales
There are lots of things to do in the Yorkshire Dales, so getting this planning process right will mean being able to fit in as much as possible. Here we will look at some of the top attractions and how to accommodate them in your trip. Walking. The Dales is a fantastic walking destination and many people come here with this as their main reason for choosing the region in the first place. The great thing about a walking holiday here is that you will come across a lot of wildlife, history and stunning scenery, so it can be like combining different types of holiday in one package. A good approach to the planning is to simply look for details of a few walking trails you like the look of and some interesting towns or villages in which you can stay in the evenings. There are plenty of both of these features, so it should be fairly easy to work out a unique route to suit you. Nature. Of course, you don’t need to make it a serious walking trip to see some of the wide variety of wildlife to be found in the Yorkshire Dales. You simply need to look for the area which most interests you – much of the region is a protected national park so there is no shortage of wildlife and natural wonders – and then explore it at your own pace. Choosing to go camping or caravanning is a good way to get out into the countryside and enjoy easy access to some of the natural delights. Remember to take a good camera and maybe some binoculars. Events. If you like your holidays to coincide with fun festivals and family events then summer is really the best time to head over to the Dales. From the popular Grassington Festival to the Wensleydale 1940s Weekend to the Flowers of the Dales Festival, there are some great themed days and weeks which will put a smile on your face and make the whole family enjoy their holiday even more. If the town holding the festival is likely to be packed with visitors then you might prefer to stay nearby and enjoy the action when you want to and the peace and quiet at other times. These are obviously only some of the things to do and see in the Yorkshire Dales, and to thoroughly organise your trip it is best to spend a little time finding out which part of the region you would be best going to in order to satisfy your own requirements.
