Playstation 2 Still Very Much Alive

In my opinion, regardless of what videogame consoles are available today, the PlayStation 2 is still very much alive. Even now, there are still games on the PS2 that I want to play.

This is actually a really good thing. The fact that I still have interest in my PS2 also means that I can get the games that I want for extremely cheap prices by simply purchasing them used. Even to this day, the PS2 sells quite well.

There are a lot of great software titles that you can find for this system. Software titles that I still want to play for my PlayStation 2 include: Metal Gear Solid 3, all of the Devil May cry games, Resident Evil 4, Silent Hill 3 and 4, and the list goes on. Oh yes, I can't forget God of war.

Another benefit of having a PS2 is let's face it, the next generation consoles, in addition to software titles, can be quite expensive. This is not so much the case for PS2. Not only can you purchase the actual console for quite cheap, but you can also purchase games for quite cheap as well, and this doesn't even include the purchase of used games. I don't think there's ever been a better time to be a gamer. I bought three software titles for my PS2 for only $15. In comparison, how much would one of the next-generation games cost? I would say $50 or possibly more. That's quite the difference.

Now you know to get the PlayStation 2 out of your closet and into your living room, controller in hand, playing the games that you want to play. If you don't yet have this console, I hope you can see now that it just may be worth getting.

As a sort of sidenote, PS2 is also backwards compatible with the original PlayStation games. The Slimline version of the console has built-in online capabilities, so no external hardware is necessary. One more thing, just rock out and have a good time. Good luck!
