Political Left: Examining And Contrasting With The Right

The phrase political left is sometimes used to describe a liberal or a Democrat. Historically a liberal was somebody who believed in the rights of the individual. They wished to cut back the influence of the Church or non secular organizations without defying the conventions of the Constitution. They were normally related to being the patriots of liberty and would appear, on paper at the very least, to be extra tolerant and more generous.

The political right on the other hand could be used to describe a person who was more conservative in their outlook on life. If a hostile condition arose in the Middle East for instance, whereas the political left would be ready to work with the United Nations and make an effort to arrive at a peaceful settlement, the right would usually advocate an armed response specifically if they thought the USA was at risk.

The political right was usually linked to being American patriots.

Generally, the Republicans would have been seen to support the armed forces along with its veterans, although it is debatable whether that is still the case. They believed in a business spirit, after all this is the USA where anyone could become rich if they believe in their dreams. With the recent economic slump, there are a lot of people who believe that persons on the political right will support the capitalistic principle at the expense of common people's pensions and stock holdings.

Whether or not you agree or disagree with either party, it is more than clear that there are extreme viewpoints on both sides. For instance certain conservatives think that every person ought to be responsible for their very own healthcare, schooling etc. After all if some can achieve something why can't everybody? They do not buy into the fact that some folks simply are not cut out to be entrepreneurs.
