Portrayal Of Inferi In Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince
Inferius (plural: Inferi), according to the book's legend, is a body which is controlled through the spells and enchantments of the Dark Wizard. It is not alive rather a dead body that has been charmed into pretending like a puppet for the witch or wizard, to change his fatal thoughts into cruel actions. It appears as a white fog in the enchanted corpse's eyes. According to the depiction given in the Half Blood Prince, the Inferi are powerless to think for their selves. Their actions and thoughts are completely under the control of the Dark Wizard who has enthralled them and are answerable for doing whatsoever they have been commanded, as they are largely created to do a special mission and duty on his behalf. This trait is obvious from the seaside cave in the Half Blood Prince in which the Inferi remained idle until and unless the time came for them to carry out their job and attack the intruders into the cave. These Inferi, as are unable of contemplating on whatsoever they do, thoughtlessly carry out their duties whether it produces any sort of results or not. This quality makes them a highly attractive part of the account. These are highly capable of repelling magic and are not affected by any spells or tricks. However, they highly resent fire or any other possible forms of light or heat as they are exposed to neither of these in the cave in the Half Blood Prince. In order to retreat from their assault, Dumbledore creates a ring of fire, around Harry and himself, out of his stick to repel them and escape from them. If these Inferi fail to complete their tasks and are finally defeated, they return to their idle state once again. They have been described as being the modified versions of zombies, which are instead given a different identity in the legend of the Half Blood Prince. As these creatures are powerful sources of exhibiting violent thoughts of Dark Wizards, that is the reason why impersonating the Inferi has been accepted as a crime worthy of incarceration in Azkaban by the book otherwise it would become quite difficult to control the dark nasty clouds from gliding over and imprisoning the whole world in them. The greatest fear that these marvellous fictions pose to Harry in the Half Blood Prince is that Voldemort can easily form a great army of them to eliminate his enemies, and spread darkness swiftly and achieve his goals. He has used the Inferi to protect one of his Horcrux to protect and revitalize himself after any sort of deadly attack which is almost foreseeable.
