Post Your Goals Where You Can See Them Everyday

A very simple tip to help you stay on track with your goals is to post them where you can see them every day. Some use marker boards, or pin paper to cork boards that detail what they want to get done for the week. These tactics are OK, making a "to-do" list is useful, but I want to talk about making mini goals and achieving them.

What helps keep me on track towards completing my goals is using a sticky note program that comes with Microsoft Windows 7. I write out what goals I want to get done for the week that will help me inch closer towards achieving my long term goals. I like this program because every time I turn on my computer the program pops up for me to see and reminds me of the work I have to get done before I go off and lose an hour worth of time watching YouTube videos. When I do achieve a goal I don't delete it from the list. I simply type an "x" next to each item that is done. I like this because at the end of the week I have my accountability sheet for what I completed and what I missed. The I can review to see if I tried to do too much, or if I wasted too much time.

This tactic is great for little short term goals, but for big long term goals like moving to another country or meeting someone of importance, I like to write those down in a notebook that I review periodically from time to time as a way to view the forest from the trees.

So that is it. It's a great way to stay focus and make forward progress towards your goals. It is also a self esteem booster when you look at a list of what you got done as opposed to a list of what you missed (accountability).
