In my opinion, power tools are a necessity for home improvement projects. There are no if's, and's, or but's about it. When I tackle a home renovation project, I typically find myself using circular saws, routers, sanders, and jigsaws the most. But what about accessories?

Other important accessories are alignment tools such as dial indicators, planer pals, protractors, clamp guides, laser guides, and cutting guides. All of these will come in handy while you're trying to meet deadlines and produce a great looking finished project.

Lastly, when it comes to power tools or accessories, buy good stuff! Many DIY'ers make the mistake of buying cheap, "budget tools" that end up breaking soon after they're put to work. Resist the temptation to buy cheap powertools just because they're cheap. Always buy the best stuff that you can afford. Also, in addition to lasting longer, high-quality power tools are easier and safer to use. As my grandfather always said, "Buy it right, buy it once".
