Also, choose a template that is lightly colored so that you won't have your readers squinted against dark backgrounds or even neon bright ones. Those will be devastating moves for any presentation and will also look highly unprofessional.

Next, you want to make sure that your slides remain consistent. Choose a font that will stay the same throughout and avoid stylized fonts like cursive or script, and instead choose something like Arial or Times New Roman. Choose a good size font for headings and make the text easy to read, as well. You can feel free to use bullet points, because that helps with organization of main ideas, but avoid long paragraphs and a great heaving block of text. In fact, the best presentations are those that have only main key points that you point to before elaborating with your own discussion. Remember that what you want to say should not be on the slide at all but should be yours to present. You want to keep the attention on you and not on your slides, which are just a tool in the background. Use plenty of images, graphs, charts, and videos on your slides but do not cram it with words or description because that will be very counterproductive.

Also, avoid animation of your slides. PowerPoint has a lot of features that let you animate your presentation and create sound effects and whizzing slides and things. These things cause distractions and make people lose sight of what you are trying to say. Instead, keeping a relevant photo, not clip art, of course, but something that is reflective of your message will help you do something that is essential to your message.

PowerPoint can be a great way of getting your ideas across in a fun and effective way. There are a variety of ideas and objects you can put on your slides, deciding how to organize it, and more than that, it can really help you gather your ideas during a proposal or presentation so that the slides can help you. Once you make your slide show, practice your presentation along with your slide and be sure that you can still present without it. So, if any technical failure should occur, you will be able to resume without losing important information. Your slideshow should not be the main aspect of your presentation at all. Once you do this, you can be assured that you have a great product that will help you make a convincing argument and get a great message across, no matter what venue or reason.
