Preventing Gout - Cherries

Gout is currently uncurable, no miracle treatment exists. Technically speaking, there is no cure for gout, only preventative measures. However, I learned that by cutting out or eating less of certain foods, and more importantly, eating certain foods regularly can totally eliminate gout. I have not suffered through a gout attack in almost four years.

Announcing a secret weapon that is extremely effective in preventing gout, cherries. Eating cherries regularly helps to eliminate uric acid from your system. Too much is what creates a gout attack. All of the different kinds of cherries can either be described as red cherries or dark cherries. Both are good.

Cherries have anti inflammatory properties that can help to not only prevent attacks, but also help to reduce the severity of one. They are also natural analgesics and sedatives and naturally regulate the amount of uric acid in your body. They will aid your own body's ability to get rid of the uric acid from your body. The ingredient that exists naturally in all types of cherries, melatonin, does this.

As it pertains to gout, cherries also help because they are loaded with fiber. Lots of fiber in your every day diet will cause you to go to the bathroom more often, and each time you do, your body is getting rid of uric acid. There are other great things beneficial to your health in this fruit - antioxidants and vitamins. These will help to remove uric acid crystals from your joints and arteries and also provide you some excellent overall health benefits as well.
