It is accepted practice for all stores to use promotions to increase the sales of their services. It is a regular marketing ploy which has been found to work over a long period. You may have been selected to receive the code because you are an old or regular customer. They may have found out your details from a marketing campaign and are trying desperately to convert you into a customer. A friend of yours may have referred the supplier to you and you get a special deal as a reward. A website may have a different promotion code for exactly the same offer. The marketing people need to evaluate which marketing techniques are working better than others. Promotion codes allow them to track where the orders came from.
Whatever the reason you have received the promotion code it means that you have a better than normal offer. The general public will not have access to the same price or terms that you have been offered. You may not be influenced to buy the offer and so the promotion code is of no value to you. If you do like the product and want to buy it, then you must take advantage of the promotion code. To not do so means that you may be paying a higher price than you need to. Also, there is often a time limit on a special offer and therefore a time limit on the promotion code too.
Promotion codes are very effective from the seller's point of view. If you are fortunate enough to receive them, then do make sure you take advantage. Experienced bargain hunters and smart buyers will use them wherever they can get their paws on them.
