Promotional Lanyards Increase Security And Promote Your Business.

I talk about lanyards a fair bit. Usually about the promotional ones, but this time I will be talking about the security kind. Security guards wear these lanyards with identification cards attached, and often swipe keys and other security devices using a simple clip fixed to the end of the material length. Nylon is very popular because it is strong and does not fray as easily as polyester. I would always recommend nylon because of the look and strength of the material. Which is very similar to a seat belt.

This is fantastic but what happens if the lanyard gets snagged on something or pulled on, strangling the wearer. The answer is a safety break clip which is sewn into the material length usually at the back or side of the neck. Badge carrying is another important role in the workplace, usually a simple wallet is attached to the lanyards for a plastic card to slip into. However some organisations choose to purchase a retractable reel that has a clip on the end for attaching to a swipe card. Meaning the card can be extended and used without having to be detached from the lanyard or clip.

Many companies choose not to emblazon their branding or logo across these security lanyards many would rather have a carefully selected colour scheme to enable identification of security levels and clearance. Medical staff often wear branded lanyards however and many large medical and pharmaceutical groups supply hospitals with lanyards as a promotional item.

When selecting the right type of lanyard for your organisation keep all of these things in mind, most promotional and lanyard firms will tailor a lanyard to suit your needs.
