Promotional Products That Bring Some Sun To Your Summer
We don’t generally revere the sun like might have been more widespread way back in mankind’s early days, but the sun is still a big deal. Particularly if you live in a region that doesn’t have a lot of clear sunny days! People aren’t the only things that thrive in the sun; entire business sectors orbit the sun. Shed some sunshine on your brand name by getting out there and discovering some nice sun related promotional items!
Things with “SPF” protection ratings on them are the most popular promotional products out there for the summer. All promotional item catalogs are full of sunscreens created from just about any substance you could make lotions or sunscreens from. Sunscreen is made up of made up of a mixture of chemical compounds that are there to stop the damaging ultraviolet light generated by the sun. Some of the compounds in sunscreen are organic and absorb UV light while others have inorganic substances that scatter and reflect the light. Organic and inorganic mixes of compounds are common, too. What all this means is that you can choose just any old lotion or try to stay organic or green with your selection.
It seems like this comes up in every article about promotions or using products to advertise but it really has to be repeated: make your promotions useful and unique. Promotional sun lotions certainly fit the bill as useful. At least as long as you maintain the “unique” part of the deal and are the only one giving our sunscreen at a particular event. If there are other companies or people giving out free lotions, your promotions are just going to wind up as background noise. How useful are a dozen bottle of lotions, at that point? This makes the sunscreen a lot less unique and a lot less practical. This isn’t to say sunscreen isn’t a good idea, but you’ve got to be one of the only people using it at a particular tradeshow or event. As a business gift or company party bargain, it would be a great idea.
Let us take a look at what would be considered “exceptional” compared to other approaches. A good beginning would be to consider an umbrella! A fairly reasonably priced small umbrella even, not an unwieldy and expensive beach umbrella. Beach umbrellas may work as a corporate gift, but if you’re giving out a number of promotional items you will definitely want to go with something as cheap and as portable as an ordinary sun umbrella.
Instead of sunscreen lotion, try a more diverse route to offering some promotional shade. Sun shades for peoples’ cars are big in that they offer plenty of room for a large ad or company sign, but there’s also a chance they basically won’t be used. How many people are you acquainted with that use one? Visors and caps are nice because they’re convenient, useful and can be embroidered nicely, but this is another potential “noise to signal” dilemma if you’re handing them out at an event. Caps and visors can be way too common at some trade shows and every other booth that is giving a cap out is just diminishing the likelihood that people will hold on to your item.
It can be said for just about every approach to promotions and has been said repeatedly but bears repeating as a final point: you need something that will stand out and help you stand out with it. Whether you’re giving out sunscreens or even actual screens for sunny days, make sure it’s unique and useable so you’ll see clear skies ahead.
