Psoriasis Could It Be Linked To Candida Overgrowth

Candida is a common yeast or fungus that lives naturally in our gut breaking down sugars it feeds mostly on sucrose ( cane sugar found in most refined foods) but when allowed to can get out of control in your body can cause serious health issues I believe non genetic psoriasis is one of these.

The relationship between Candida on the skin and Candida overgrowth in the gut is not generally appreciated by western medicine. Candida overgrowth may lead to dysbiosis and leaky gut syndrome and the spread of candida and toxins through the body, this can confuse and suppress the offensive weapons of the body's immune system.

Fist the body detects a foreign invader on the skin and begins to attack it creating inflammation, but because candida is good at disguising its self the immune system cannot get rid of the candida, the immune system can become confused and begin to attack its own cells as well as candida and a prolonged inflammation reaction takes place.

Candida overgrowth is likely to be encouraged by the medications prescribed for psoriasis such as anti inflammatory and immunosuppressant drugs, so if candida is indicated a vicious circle can develop where the medications them selves may cause a patient who may have a genetic tendency to develop psoriasis to get increasing symptoms.

So how to reverse this and give long term results a three way attack is needed first an achievable diet to starve the fungus, second live bacteria’s to re inoculate the gut, third Homoeopathic’s to push candida out of the body and give long term resistance to re infection (now available in kit form), this may give long term results in cases where psoriasis is not directly genetically linked and symptom relief to genetic sufferers.
