Raising Responsible Children For A Brighter Future

There is a growing realization that we need to raise responsible children to achieve a brighter future for both the individual and society as a whole. The traditional discipline based methods of raising children are out of step with modern thinking and increasingly difficult to implement in a world that has scant regard for the sanctity of family and herein lies the rub. In order for society to change, parents must raise the future generation with integrity but amidst the moral corruption.

A challenge indeed, especially as we are inclined to parent the way we were parented ourselves, despite being aware that these methods are largely outdated, it is hard to break the natural cycle. The fact of the matter is that to have any hope of raising responsible children we must first be responsible for ourselves and that can only mean one thing, taking a long hard look at oneself. Our children are first an extension of us and then a mirror image, if we do not like what we see in them we must change it in ourselves first, fortunately the same is true of more positive traits, so all is not lost.

To accomplish this Herculean but not impossible task, within a society that is essentially undermining of the parent and child relationship requires outside assistance. This can't be overstated enough since success in all things comes with like minded support and expert guidance from those who are acting out of integrity not just financial gain. This support and guidance is what strengthens our moral compass and helps us to stick to the pioneer's path, becoming truly responsible parents raising truly responsible children for a brighter future and a brighter world.
