Realizing The True Nature Of Cancer

Surely you may think that the medical community is gaining a better handle on cancer but in reality they really don't have a handle at all. With all the new treatments and prescreening methods there are very few people who out live their cancer diagnosis. When it comes to getting the facts about cancer most people are under the assumption that the medical community has some type of control over this health issue. In fact they have little ability to make even a slight impact on shrinking or reducing a tumor, much less to actually make a person cancer free.

A lot of hype about cancer progress and cures have been the mainstay for medical advertisements, when in fact there is really no evidence that will support many of these claims. This is all beginning to look like one giant mirage coming from the medical community. There are treatments being used such as radiation and chemotherapy that can sometimes only prolong the life of a cancer victim. These treatments sometimes however will give way to remissions, but the true cancer healing holy grail has yet to be discovered and used by this same medical community, leaving the average person to wonder if there will ever truly be a cure for cancer in its various forms.

remission is just cancer cell growth cessation and does not mean the cancer is gone and the person is medically and magically cured. The belief that cancer in remission is no more cancer and that health will be restored is false. Cancer never really goes anywhere, especially away but those opposed to this line of thinking say that patients who were diagnosed with cancer, treated and later re-diagnosed as being cancer free see this as a medical error, or a miracle has taken place and that there is no need to be concerned any longer about cancer, but the true facts just don't support this conclusion. Very little can be done for cancer or cancer patients except prolong life just a few years longer, but never cured.

Medical professionals and advertisers have tired to down play cancer as being a death sentence, when in fact for the most part it really is for most anyone who has cancer. Most doctors will insist that the person start receiving treatments as soon as possible, but some people choose to refuse the treatments regardless of the seriousness of the cancer. Cancer is serious business and many of the prescribed treatments are just as deadly, if not more deadly than the disease itself.

Life is precious and therefore we must live each day to the best of our ability. Cancer is an illness that tends to offer little by the way of hope and from this perspective it can be near impossible to make decisions on whether to treat or not to treat. Most people will try some form of treatment either a traditional method in the United States or even an alternative treatment option that may require travel to a foreign country. Either way there are options but choosing which if any of the options available is a personal decision and one that requires quite a bit of thought and information to make.
