Reasons To Visit The Golden Triangle And Vale Do Lobo

Vilamoura is deceptively the name of an area. Not an actual town. The thing that makes it such a paragon, is that it is the biggest tourist complex in Europe. An expanse enveloping 2,000 hectares!

This abundance of hectare is awash with multiform vegetation types. You could be in a forest or on marshland, and still be in Vilamoura. It’s all really well looked after though, because the company care so much about the environment. Every conceivable effort has been made, to have nature happy.

In conjunction with the gargantuan scale of the resort, there are not many conceivable types of sport or entertainment that are not on offer. It even has a beach. A beach!

Among all these amazing attractions are a liberal, six golf courses! And away from the golf there is also a marina, a tennis centre, shooting facilities, apartments for tourists, nightclubs, a cinema, a lawn bowls facility, a sports club, four and five star hotels, self-catering villas, and an international casino.

At the heart of Vilamoura lie the museum and the Roman site. The Museum of Cerro da Villa gives an excellent insight into the past goings on of the area, where there is a great fishing heritage. The Roman site is known to be an area where the seafaring men of the past, would come to bath.

Being a destination that has been designed solely for the purpose of tourism, Vilamoura offers niceties for all age groups, as it would be expected to.

Facilities include: Cafes and Pubs, Restaurants, Banks, Post office, Supermarkets (with international products) and a large variety of Golf Courses

The Golden Triangle is also home to another fantastic resort, that goes by the name of Vale do Lobo, and is situated in the south of Portugal.
It was started up in 1962, and was the first ever tourism enterprise of the Algarve. Bringing the concept to life was the partnership formed by two multinational companies. They were Trusthouse Fort plc and Costain plc.
When the firs five star hotel was built, complete with golf course, (Hotel Le Meridien D. Filipa) it was a far cry from what the Algarve had been all about previously, which was fishing and agriculture.

It was some time in the seventies that a businessman, with a background in jewellery and diamonds, fell in love with what he saw her. It is fair to say that Vale do Lobo certainly inspired Dutchman, Sander van Gelder.

He was primarily attracted by the tourist opportunity that the area possessed. And so he decided to purchase Vale do Lobo in 1977. He moved there with his family and there came the realisation of Vale do Lobo’s status as a luxury resort.

In present times, the area is set in around 400 hectares. It is so big and has such a range of facilities that it is completely self-sufficient. Residents love the quality of the homes and the unique structures that are dotted around. It is considered by far to be the superior luxury destination in the whole of Europe.

As 2006 came to a close, Vale do Lobo was subject to its acquisition by a substantial group of investors. These included the larges bank in Portugal- Caixa Geral de Depositos. It inherited a new executive president into the bargain. A man named Diogo Gaspar Ferreira.

Due to this new, powerful investment, Vale do Lobo receives sufficient monetary support to be able to carry out all of its plans for future expansion. Some seriously important projects are currently in development. Projects, such as The Oceano Clube (Vale do Lobo II) and Vale Real (Vale do Lobo III).
It is situated in the coastal region of central Algarve, and boasts a great heritage, as well as yearlong sunshine.

Something that makes Vale do Lobo a major consideration, in terms of where to live and to visit, is its proximity. Less than 20 minutes away from Faro International Airport by car, it is also around three hours flight away from Most of the European capitals.

It is about two and a half hours away from its countries capital, Lisbon, and the same from Seville, in Spain.
So sample the delights of Portugal’s Golden Triangle.
