As new homes grow larger, the yards that accompany them have been shrinking. People often give little thought to their yard when purchasing a home, but yards provide a wealth of benefits.

Unless a person is planning on staying in the same house indefinitely, the resale value of his or her home is important. Having a large, good-looking yard automatically increases the value of the home by thousands of dollars. Not only does it make the home worth more on paper, but it makes the home easier to sell. Regardless of how beautiful a home is, if it is surrounded by a tiny, unkempt yard it will become harder the sell.

It seems that with advancement in technology has come an increased proportion of our days spent indoors. The draw of television and computers often bait our families into ignoring the outdoors. However, having a beautiful yard just outside your window can lure your family back outside. Landscaping the yard can make it even more irresistible.
