Red Lights On Xbox 360

As a young man, I can tell you that one of my favorite devices is my Xbox 360. Ever since I had the original Xbox (and later, the Xbox 360), I became a fan of the Microsoft consoles. They not only have some of my favorite video games, but they also have other features that I find very useful. For example, I stopped using my CD player a long time ago. I just save my music to the console’s hard drive and play the songs in any order I want. And why go to the trouble of plugging a DVD player? I just play my movies on my Xbox. Plus it’s much more satisfying to hear my friends say “you control the movie with a video game console controller, cool!”

Of course, like any machine, it can break down. I remember clearly one day when I came and saw red lights on Xbox 360. I got scared, I freaked out. I had heard of the famous “ring of death”, but I never dreamed it would happen to my Xbox 360. By the way, “ring of death” is a misnomer, since there are only 3 red lights on Xbox 360, and therefore, the “ring” is never completed.

It was a very disappointing moment. Nothing I tried make the lights go away. I didn’t want to open the console and void the guarantee. I finally had to have the console sent to Microsoft and wait a few weeks. I had rented a videogame and, of course, I had to return it before I had a chance to play it.

When I got my console back, I was able to play again normally for some time. Until one day, the screen went off and there they were: red lights on Xbox 360. I couldn’t believe it! The worst part was that I had invited some friends to play.

I didn’t want to send it to Microsoft and have the problem temporally fixed, especially if each fix would take 3 or 4 weeks. The guides available at Internet not only show how to deal with the red lights on Xbox 360, but also how to perform other small fixes that a console needed.
