Registering Your Website Names And How Do You Not The Domain Renewal Problem
It makes real sense to register variations of your domain names, including different product names and spellings. There are lots of reasons for this but most importantly to ensure that these unused domain names don't end up in the hands of your rivals. Don't forget owning a number of domain names can improve your search engine rankings and is looked upon as part of an advanced search engine optimisation plan. In order to register a domain name, a user has to got to a registrar, which is a company approved to register domain names. You will probably have noticed that domain> can have a number of different endings. The .com extension is the gold standard of domain names. Some government or educational extensions, for eample .gov or .ac.uk have restrictions on who can use them. Some countries also don't like it when you use their extension if you don't live there. However interestingly, ownership of .asia domain names is not restricted and does not need any proof of Asian orientation or residency. Due to the exponentially increasing expansion of the Internet, when new extensions are launched much sort after domain names are registered at a very fast rate. Domain Name Renewals Naturally, you would pay a yearly fee for a domain name and you can have lots of domain names. When you have many domain names, you may want to sell them. Unsuprisingly, some domain names that have fetched a lot of money, including I heard vodka.com which was purchased at $3 million in 2006. A word of caution is when it it is time to renewal of your domain name. There are many unscrupulous companies out there who will contact you with what looks like a renewal notice for your domain, when the truth is they are not the registrar that you originally registered the domain with and in fact want to deceive you into moving domain company and usually paying a considerably higher domain name renewal price than you will do with your exisiting {registrar| company. To avoid getting conned, take a note of when your domain names are due for renewal and be very wary of invoices arriving too soon. You should be wary to if your domain company is taken over by a different company, or it is not the actual registrar company you are dealing with and the company in between you are buying from suddenly suggests that you should swap registrar for renewals or hands over renewals to the registrar, this actually happened to me a few years back and I was shocked to discover the domain that I'd got for very little would be fifty times the amount at renewal, you will not be surprised when I say I rapidly got in touch with the normal domain company I use and got the domain transferred to them and now pay just a few pounds each year once more.
