Research Indicates Dadt Policy Repeal Matters Little To Service Employees
Study says military employees Don't ask, tell or care A research started by the Pentagon several months ago, at the behest of Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, has revealed that most service employees don't think about the controversial "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy, based on ABC. The finding from the study was leaked a while ago by the Washington Post, much to the consternation of Gates, though it seems the govt has been having an issue with leaked documents lately. The leaked portion of the study included the finding that 70 percent of respondents did not believe that Don't Ask Don't Tell repeal would actually have any impact on anything in the military. There were 150,00 spouses of military personnel and 400,000 military members that got the survey. Of those, less than 30 percent responded. Most Americans support the repeal of the DADT law It seems like in the last few years, polls and surveys have been changing. The repeal of the DADT policy is being supported more and more by Americans. A Cable News Network poll indicated that more than 70 percent of Americans embrace repealing Don't Ask Don't Tell, and a recently released Pew Research poll said 58 percent of Americans were for repealing DADT policy according to Cable News Network. Those who responded to the survey are all that are truly analyzed by polls and statistics. This could possibly be inaccurate for how the country as a whole feels on the subject. However, it does appear that more individuals are for getting rid of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell.". Soon coming to a decision There's a good chance this issue will come up shortly. The next legislative session ought to consist of it. Debate raged over "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and allowing homosexuals to serve for years. Homosexuality was grounds for discharge for decades. An order came from President Truman when the military was segregated too. Racial discrimination was ended in the military then.
