Reus Airport In A Nutshell

Reus Airport is located approximately 3 kms from the City centre of Reus, 13 kms from Tarragona and around 80kms south of Barcelona. The majority of flights at Reus airport are characterised by a large number of international charter flights which operate mainly on a seasonal nature between May and October.

Most flights into Reus are from the UK and scheduled flights are primarily to London-Stansted, London-Luton, Frankfurt, Liverpool and Dublin.
Thanks to the introduction of budget airlines, Reus Airport has grown considerably in the last two years, with passenger traffic levels reaching close to 1.3 million in 2008.

In order to adapt Reus airport for future air traffic demand, a series of measures to improve and extend its facilities are currently taking palce. A new check-in building is now up and running, situated between the arrival and departure buildings, turning the three buildings into one with alterations being made to the departure building to adapt it for use as a boarding area.

The new arrivals terminal building is very modern and comfortable and is split into 2 levels. There are two arrivals lounges, the first contains a baggage claim area with three carousels and the second lounge includes spaces for tour operators, vehicle hire, cafeteria and other services. As you come through into the arrivals hall you will find that there is a cafe on your right which sells coffees, cakes and sandwiches.

5 of the major car hire firms are based at Reus Airport, these are Auriga Crown, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Solmar. As Reus Airport is the main airport for the Costa Dorada and the resort of Salou, you can easily get a taxi or jump on a bus to get to your destination. The bus route between Reus airport and Cambrils stops in La Pineda, Faro, Salou and Vilaseca.

You can get a bus directly outside the terminal building from Reus Airport to Barcelona. The journey takes around 1 hour and 20 minutes. The number 50 bus will take you from the airport into Reus Bus station which is about a 15minute walk from the city centre. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes and a single ticket costs €1.10.

If you are picking someone up at Reus Airport or if you are flying out from Reus Airport and need to park your car there, then there are two car parks which you can use that are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Car Park P1 is for hire cars, buses and airport employees and offers a total of 318 spaces. Public Car Park P2 has 513 spaces, 15 of which are for people with reduced mobility. Parking tarrifs are as follows, from minute 0 to minute 30, €0.014145 per minute, from minute 31 to minute 60, €0.017682 per minute, from minute 61, €0.013261 per minute, daily maximum up to four days €8.90 daily maximum every day thereafter €7.10.

Departures at Reus Airport are handled in the new building linking the two existing departures and arrivals terminals. Building work is still being carried out in the boarding gate area and passengers continue to board from the provisional terminal. This temporary terminal is accessed via a covered walkway just after security screening.

Check-in now takes place through 1 of 23 check-in desks in the new departures terminal. After passing through the security control checkpoint you will pass through a covered walkway to access the provisional boarding area where the 6 boarding gates are located. Both buildings are equipped with several catering and shopping areas.
