Running Your Own Team Building

Taking the time to invest in team building can have positive impact on staff relationships, which inturn can then influence staff loyalty, performance and overall team effectiveness. When conducting team building there are several elements to keep in mind to ensure that you get the most from the experience.
Your Objective. The first step is to clarify and refine your objective. Taking the time to do this will influence the type of activity you select. What is your objective? It may be that you want to provide your team with an opporunity to build their personal relatonships, encourage better communication or greater innovation. When you confirm your objective your choice of team building will be greatly influenced.
The second step is choose your activity. Your objective will greatly influence your choice of activity. If you are wanting to build personal relationships, find a team building game that is highly interactive, fun and designed to generate laughter. Fun and laughter is the fastes way of building relationships. If you are looking to improve relationships find a team building activity that places pressure on elements of communication.
