Running A Themed Birthday Party For Your Child
Make a list of activities that are related to the chosen theme. Some fun things like crafts, exciting games, competition and visual treats are a must at a gathering for children, regardless of the age. You can search on the internet or your local library for some great ideas that will go along perfectly with your party’s theme. Make a list of several ideas for each activity you come up with and begin to narrow it down. You will need to pick one or two activities from each category as time allows. Making the choices can be done easily if you ask your child what he or she thinks their friends would like to do and things that they like as well. Try to pick two things from each category and be sure to watch the time so you have time to get to all of your chosen activities. After all, you do not want to spend an hour on two craft activities and not have time to get to the planned games and other activities. Make sure you are prepared and purchase more than the amount of supplies than children invited for things such as the crafts. It is important to allow for mistakes to be made and have enough supplies on hand so that the child can do their craft over if there is a mishap and go home smiling. Setting up a snack table away from the game and craft area is helpful and cuts down on messes. Have a large pitcher or several that have spouts so that children can easily get a cool drink without making an unnecessary mess. Guide the kids to each activity or game you have planned, giving instruction and assisting as needed. Keep the party fun and entertaining by adding music that follows along with the party theme. Remember, this is your child’s fun day, so planning ahead is the best for less stress and mess for you and for your child.
