Samsung Wave 578 Is Top Of Its Class

It is not take long to realise where the action is in the smartphone segment. It is all in the mid-range smartphone segment that has seen a number of launches in the last few years. It has become so overwhelmingly rich with phones that seemed to offer a lot of features, but in the end will do nothing except disappoint. However, Samsung is one of the best companies in this business of making mid-range of smartphones and they have announced that they will be launching the new Samsung Wave 578, which will be once again stressing this fact. It is a midrange smartphone, but it will take long for you to realise that mainly because of the huge feature list that it comes with.

The Samsung Wave 578 will be coming with a touch screen display and it is the only form of interface between you and the phone. However, it is going to be a good thing with the Samsung given that the touch screen display in the phone will be measuring 3.2 inches in size. Even though this seems to be the limit for the mid-range smartphones nowadays, the fact that this display will be using the capacitive technology along with a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels makes this extremely good. The display will also be having the task of showing the TouchWiz user interface version 3.0, which is used in the phone. The user interface offers an excellent break down after various features of the Bada operating system present in the phone.

The Bada operating system that is used in the phone will be the version 2.0 and it is one of the main reasons for this phone being priced in this segment. Due to the absence of the Android operating system, Samsung has been able to shift its focus into other areas rather than providing the Android operating system with the best possible processor and hardware configurations. This is evident from the 3.15 megapixel camera that is capable of a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels. This high amount of resolution for the images means that you will be getting excellent detail, even though the megapixel count comes to 3.15 only. The camera is also capable of video recording with a QVGA resolution at a frame rate of 20 frames a second. The phone will also be having a secondary camera, something that is not usually found in this segment.

This is present in the phone to take advantage of the 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity features that are present in the phone. It will be having social networking integration support along with live update feature. There is also the support for NFC, but this is optional in the Samsung Wave 578. The phone seems to be quite adept at playing a number of audio and video formats. The Samsung Wave 578 has just been announced by Samsung and it is expected to be released in the UK by May of this year.
