Samuel Learns To Yell And Tell

Quite a frustrating thought to see our world through this book turning putrid. In the earlier times, no indication of child sexual molestation has ever been spoken. Yet, these modern days created a shift, where many child sexual predators are uncovered on the news. As aptly stated in the concluding letter to parents, we want to be proactive in protecting our children.

This 35-page full color book will show you advices through a mother and her son, where she primarily cautions her son on the five sexual adulterations. The first is from a fellow playmate who shows Samuel his privates and asks to see his. Mother’s counsel is, “Now you know my little Samuel. This is truly bad. Even if he is your friend it makes God very sad. So, I ask you now, Samuel son, Will you think it’s all in fun? Will you stay, or will you run?” For Samuel, he will run!

The most critical point is implied in the second. A certain friend or family member is becoming a part of the family but deceivingly wanting to sexually abuse Samuel and influence him not to run and tell. “Will you do just as he says and keep his evil secret? or will you run and tell and yell? Will you be brave, my Samuel?” The objective is to expose the malicious act, in the same way conveyed in the concluding letter to parents, “A child predator loses his power when he loses his cover.”

An invitation to pornography makes the third. The fourth is when an older boy entices Samuel to see his private and Samuel will also show his but warns him never to tell, similar to the first situation. The last focuses on the impious imaginations that Samuel might be encountering in the future. In all cases, the mother advised Samuel to always inform his parents. He must disregard any threat and not resort to secrets between friends.

In this colorful book, Samuel is neither informed on the reasons why these actions are wrong nor on what he needs to do about the person involved. Primarily, he is educated on how to recognize a certain condition and what he needs to do, simply running and telling his parents on the situation.

The dialogue in the book is presented in poems with a flowing rhyming format. The pages are in full color watercolor drawings that make it more lively and eye-catching even to children. A mother’s love for her son is shown on how she wanted to protect him from sexual molestation that can produce a great impact to his future life. Samuel’s reaction is also indicated. Samuel promised to run or yell and tell in the event any of these situations might happen.

The last two pages show an appropriate letter to parents. They share statistics about where predators pop up and ways to recognize dangerous conduct in others. Still, they advise people not to live in fear. Of course, not everyone is not to be trusted. Nor are we to keep away from children so as to preempt negative judgment from others. Still, we must refrain from possible conditions that can question our motives. In addition, we as parents must let our children be informed on these predicaments as these are too serious for them to handle. Through reading this book to them every now and then will give them the idea on the possible situations as well as the response they need to do.

Sara Sue Really Learns to Yell and Tell is a sequel intended for little girls that is planned to be published. Hopefully No Greater Joy will also produce similar materials addressed to older children as well.
