Save Money On Golf

If you’re like me and you enjoy golf but don’t have a ton of money to spend this article is for you. Golf lessons, range balls, GPS, clubs, balls, shoes, greens fees, carts, food, beverages, the costs can add up fast; before you know it you’ve spent hundreds or even thousands of dollars. If you are on a budget there are many things you can do to save a tremendous amount of money on golf.

If you are a beginner you don’t need top of the line clubs, they won’t do you any good until you have developed your game. When you are ready to step up to using better clubs consider going to garage sales. I have seen almost new clubs such as Ping and Callaway at fraction of the price at yard sales. Try checking out online auctions such eBay for great deals. Many sporting goods store deeply cut prices on last year’s clubs, use can get brand new clubs for up to 75% off. Buy items like shoes and balls during the winter to get the best prices.

Greens fees can be pricey at many courses, but even the best courses can be affordable if you go at the right time. Go in the evening to take advantage of twilight rates. Prices are also less during the week than they are on weekends. I like to go on golf vacations during the off season; either in the spring or fall many courses drop their prices. Stay and play packages are great for trying courses far away, many times you can get a hotel room and a round of golf for the same price you would normally pay for just the room.

Many areas offer coupon books which contain half price or two-for-one greens fees at a selection of courses. If you just need to practice your short game consider going to an all par three course, you’ll save time and money. Follow these money saving tips and you will enjoy a lot more golf for the money.
