With pay as you go you can really keep an eye on your monthly or weekly mobile spend, topping up only when you need to. Use a foreign SIM when on holiday. Anyone who has taken their phone on holiday with them will know that it is easy for your phone to spend more on your foreign trip than you do. Making calls while abroad can be very expensive, and in many cases you will also be charged for receiving calls too.

In the meantime, call and text rates vary from country to country, with countries outside of Europe increasing in cost rather dramatically. So do not get caught out, and before you fly talk to your provider about any special holiday deals they may offer.
