Scifi Characters That Deserve The Spotlight
Ultra Magnus The big transforming truck that doesn't get half the spotlight of Optimus but who is just as awesome. Ultra Magnus transforms from a car carrier truck into a massive robot twice the size of Optimus. Either in the cartoon or comic there is a storyline where Magnus travels the galaxy hunting and arresting robot criminals. That right there is the premise of a great TV show. Each week Magnus would be on the trail of another crazed transformer be they Autobot or Decepticon getting further grizzled and damaged along the way. He could be following a trail of destruction by the Dinobot Grimklock as his first assignment. Boba Fett This one's a no brainer. Boba Fett from Star Wars is a bounty hunter. In the movie or series he would be tracking one criminal after another. I just realised that my Ultra Magnus idea was actually this one in reverse. There have been rumours that Boba Fett would be one of the main characters in the upcoming Star Wars TV show. We can but hope. Wolverine Wolverine has had his own movie but it was a big mess that didn't do the character justice. He will be given another chance in the sequel directed by James Mangold. The sequel will be based in Japan where a lot of Wolverines best stories have gone down. Commander Adama The recent Battlestar Galactica series is one of the best TV shows ever. There were many fantastic characters in the story but a lot of viewers favourite was Commander Adama. The character was brilliantly played by Edward James Olmos who gave Adama a heart and made him gripping TV. In the series Adama had been in military service for years and was about to retire before the Cylon attack. During one episode we got to see Adama as a young man fighting the cyclons of yesteryear. That episode was so good I would have watched a whole movie based on Adama's exploits.
