The coveted first page of Google is somewhat like an elusive challenge for those who choose to use search engine optimization strategies to profit from the internet.
With all of the various factors that come into play when you're trying to garner a top search engine ranking for a specific keyword, there are only a few key tips you need to know to get a better ranking for your website.
The first tip is to make sure that you use your keyword in the title of your webpage to attract the attention of the search engines. This also tells the software that the search engines utilize, what your site is about.
Another search engine marketing tip you can benefit from is to use h1 tags or header tags as these highlight to the search engines the importance of your keyword. If the search engines recognize the emphasis you place on your keyword than you stand a better chance of showing up early in the search results.
Use keywords that are relevant to your content and develop content that is relevant to your keyword. If you are targeting dog training collars, content that is centered around cat beds is not going to help your rankings any.
