Search Engine Optimization Vs Blog Individuality – Can Both Be Achieved?

As we all know, it’s important to develop your own writing style for your blog or website. On the other hand, it’s also a good idea to optimize your blog posts for the search engines, in order to rank as highly as possible with them. So is it possible to achieve both these aspects simultaneously?

Creating your own writing style for your readers will get across the fact that your blog is unique in terms of the quality of your blog content. In fact, I would say it’s critical that you have your own blog voice, so that you stand out from the crowd.

If you’re optimizing your blog posts for search engines, you’ll find that you may have to sacrifice a little bit of your individuality, in order to please the search engine spiders when they come crawling your blog. When I write a new blog post, the subject of the post will be in:

- The web address url;
- The title of the blog post, and;
- Sprinkled throughout the blog post itself.

This ensures that the search engine spiders will definitely know what my blog post subject is.

I believe that it is possible to ‘marry’ the two aspects when writing a new blog post. It may mean that you have to follow the same structure for each post, but eventually you will come to write as creatively as ever, while at the same time optimizing your blog posts in the correct manner. All it takes is a little revision of your blog posts once you’ve written it, maybe by way of a little ‘shuffling’ of the content, or adding / deleting the parts which are or aren’t relevant to the subject at hand.

I like to think that my blog posts manage to achieve both individuality for the reader, and a good level of search engine optimization. Of course, there’s plenty of room for improvement within everyone’s posts. Optimization in terms of both search engine placement and individuality is a continuous process, there is always room for improvement within your blog or website. But with a little practice, you’ll find that your writing style will accommodate your readers needs, and at the same time please the many search engines out there.
