A top affiliate is the CEO of his own internet marketing empire. Even though he may be marketing the products of another company or merchant, a top affiliate has full control over his affiliate or broking business.
Take for example a ship broker who sells ships for a ship owner. The ship broker in this case is an affiliate, and usually he does not earn a fixed salary. Whenever a sale is made, the ship broker, or affiliate can expect a comfortable commission often more then what he would earn from just a fixed salary.
The trick comes in when a sale has been made. How does the ship broker control future and repeat sales after the 1st sale goes through?
That is where most affiliates lose sight of the business model and leave alot of money on the table. Whilst we are happy that a sale has been made, we also want to ensure that the customer comes back to us after the initial sale.
And this happens only if we can provide a value addition. Perhaps a future quality recommendation...
For example, if we can influence a customer's decision to purchase a vessel from another ship owner instead because we know that vessel is of better quality at a better price, that is an example of value addition that will have ship owners and customers coming back to the ship broker because of his indepth knowledge and consulting advice.
Having control over the sales process give the affiliate strength and he is in control of his own broking business. A high earning affiliate has full control over his affiliate marketing business and is often a much sought after business partner by many merchants.
